Rexing A1 Action Camera Review | Is It Worth Buying?

I tested the innovative Rexing A1 Dual View Action Camera. Here are my thoughts.

I’ve been wanting to own an action camera for a while to up my game in registering my travel adventures. So when I was invited to try the new Rexing A1 Dual View Action Camera, I jumped into the opportunity.

I’ve owned a high-end action video camera before that fell short on impressing me. So I was curious to know if some other model out there more suitable for my needs.

Overall it proved to be a fantastic model for those looking for GoPro alternatives. Considering its unique features and top-quality, it is one of the best action cameras under 20o dollars you can find in the market.

Here is my unbiased Rexing A1 action camera review, including what to expect from this powerful yet small action camera and its pros and cons.

4.7/5

Rexing A1 Action Camera Review - Pros

Impressive dual view feature

Rexing A1 comes with an innovative dual view feature. It is the only two-way action camera currently in the market.

It records front and rear views simultaneously, allowing you to create immersive videos with different perspectives using only one tiny gadget.

The 170° ultra-wide-angle covers a much more extensive area than other models. Combined with the dual view, it allows you to register almost every detail of your adventures.

A characteristic that alone makes it one of the best video cameras for sports currently available, and by far my favorite feature in this action camera review.

Highly responsive

Video and photography are all about capturing the moment. Take one more second than you should, and it is gone for good!

One thing that I really loved about the Rexing A1 camera is how responsive it is. It starts recording or take pictures in seconds (literally).

The small action camera turns on really fast with one long press.

The video mode remains on and recording while you are on the move (it has sense detectors) or using the lock function on the included wireless wrist remote. And you can use the same wireless remote to take pictures with a single click on the go.

This is what sold me on this sports camera. Lack of responsiveness was what turned me off about the action camera that I had tried before.

If you are looking for a reliable action cam that won’t make you lose that special moment you just saw, this might be a top contender.

Hands-free videos and pics

The model comes with basic mounting accessories included – more than other action cameras provide. You can use them to install the camera on your helmet, converting it into a bike camera, for example.

But you can easily upgrade your camera experience with the right accessories, converting the Rexing A1 into a head camera, chest camera, or floating camera as well.

For this action camera review, I bought this inexpensive action camera accessories set from Amazon, and it worked just fine.

So far, I’ve used the chest mounting to go hiking. It felt AMAZING to fully enjoy the trail without having to stop frequently to take videos or pictures.

I left the camera on continuous recording mode on my chest. And every time I saw something that deserved a picture, I would press the photo button on the wireless remote on my wrist.

When I got home, voila! The whole adventure was registered and ready to be edited in the Rexing app, a very easy-to-use and intuitive tool.

Best bang for the buck

Rexing A1 Action Camera has an excellent price point considering what it offers and in comparison to other GoPro competitors.

With the dual camera feature, wireless wrist remote control, and basic mounting accessories included, the $199 price tag feels just right.

If you are looking for GoPro alternatives, the Rexing A1 Action Camera makes a great contender and one worth learning more about.

Perfectly-sized small action camera

Nobody wants to carry bulky gadgets on their adventures.

That’s one of the reasons why I loved the Rexing A1 while using it at my action camera review: it is a small action camera, and I really liked how light and ergonomic it felt in my hands.

I can completely wrap my fingers around it (and I have small hands!), and I could easily carry it around during my last hike.

This action cam perfectly fits my back pocket and eliminates the need to bring a bag to store it while not in use.

Waterproof Action Camera and Shockproof Materials

No reason to explain why these are great features. An action camera is not really an action camera without them, and Rexing A1 does not fall short of that.

It is a great and safe way to make sure you register your best moments without taking the risk of breaking your expensive smartphone!

Rexing A1 Action Camera Review - Cons

No built-in screen

I missed seeing what I was shooting and reviewing the videos and photos on the go during this action camera review.

The WiFi connection partially makes up for it. It converts your cellphone into an extension of the Rexing A1 action camera, and you can use it to control and see what you are recording. You need internet coverage for that, though.

No spare batteries available for purchase

The Rexing A1 battery life is average for action cameras. Meaning that probably earlier than you would like, you will run out of it at some point in your day.

Unfortunately, you don’t have the option of buying spare batteries for your Rexing A1 to use on the go.

The charger has a universal USB port, though. So you can easily overcome this issue by using a car charger or portable USB charger, accessories that I would recommend getting for the camera.

Rexing A1 Action Camera Review - Final Thoughts

The final verdict? I love the new Rexing A1 waterproof action camera.

I really enjoyed using the model and the quality of the images and videos I captured.

My two favorite characteristics were the dual-lens feature and the camera responsiveness. For me, it makes this action camera stand out from other similar – and often more expensive – models in the market.

The wireless wrist control is a super cool feature as well. It gives a lot of versatility to use the model with different mounting accessories and take pictures using the timer function.

Overall, it is a robust action camera that I would recommend buying if you are into outdoor adventures and sports and are looking for a GoPro alternative – it is more affordable and has great quality.
